A Quick Guide to Great Beach Wedding Photos
If you are able to hire a professional photographer for your wedding, then there is nothing to worry about. However, if you are like many couples, then chances are that your photos will be taken by a family member since a professional photographer can be quite expensive.
Beach wedding photos can and should be beautiful without the need of spending a great deal of money if only you follow these tips and tricks.
It is important for you to make a list of all the photos that you want to be captured during the ceremony, and also to make a list of specific people to be included. This could be, for instance, the father of the bride or a close friend. Normally, the important moments include the processional, the exchange of rings, the pronouncement, the kiss, the signing of the registry and the exit. In order to take spectacular wedding photos, remember the following tips:
It is important that you get as close as possible to the subjects (even if you are using a zoom lens), but not less than 4 feet. Beyond that point, your photos will begin to blur.- You should regard the edge of your viewfinder as a picture frame, and carefully look at what you have framed. Make sure that there are no unwanted or weird items in your photo.
- Turning the camera sideways can give you some interesting vertical perspectives. This can add to the variety and beauty of the photos.
- It is always a good idea to have extra film on hand. Usually, you should take twice the amount of film that you expect to use.
- Since lighting changes a great deal from morning to evening, it is advised to take a variety of shots with different people at different times. You will be amazed at how much a difference in lighting can affect your photos.
- Do not forget to take both posed and candid beach photos throughout the entire day.
- You should keep your camera ready at all times. Oftentimes, the unplanned photos are the best to capture.
- When taking photos, try to keep the sun behind you as much as possible. This will reduce shadows around your subjects.
- Use the “rule of thirds” for great photos. Do not center all your subjects in the viewfinder, but instead break the scene into three sections — from either side and from top to bottom. Use these sections to center the picture.
If you keep these tips and tricks in your mind, you will be sure to take some outstanding beach wedding photos. In fact, you may even find it difficult to differentiate from the work of a professional photographer.
