Save-the-Date Cards for your Beach Wedding
If you plan to have a beach wedding, you will want to make it unique and creative. Your save-the-date cards will serve as the announcement for your wedding, so you should make sure that they are also unique. You goal is for your friends, relatives and all your invited guests to make sure to keep that date available to be there on your very special day.
Save-the-date cards are necessary, especially if your wedding will take place as far away as a year or two in the future. Normally, these cards are sent at least a year prior to your wedding, and they should contain contact details to make the guests’ planning hassle-free. This is a less formal type of invitation, and the good thing about it is that it is okay to make it funny or unconventional.
Keep in mind that you can send your unconventional save-the-date cards only once you have confirmed the exact place and date of the wedding. This type of card normally contains the wedding Web site address for more details. In the event that you have no wedding Web site, you can include a small note with some more detailed information, and remember to inform your guests that the formal invitations will soon follow.
Save-the-date cards should include:
- The couple’s names
- Wedding date
- Venue
- “Invitation to follow.”
- Wedding web site’s url (if available)
The Web site information should include:
- Choices for resort/hotel
- Travel information
- Group booking ideas
- Travel agent endorsements
- Destination information
- Wedding attire
If you know that a particular guest does not have access to the Internet, send a note containing all the information stated above. It is important that you consider what suits your wedding guests in terms of travel needs, in order to make your day truly special for all of you.
Save-the-date cards do not require an RSVP. This should be on the Web site and the formal wedding invitations. In addition, rehearsal dinner or reception details must be found on the wedding Web site or in the note that is included with the save–the-date cards.
As mentioned, save-the-date cards are less formal, so you can create beach-themed designs such as starfish, flip flops, beach umbrellas, seashells, dolphins, palm trees, etc.
Further, save-the-date cards can be scented, as well. They could be in the form of a postcard, stenciled, or even magnet form. Beach-themed save-the-date cards can be more fun if made with tropical flowers or surfing magnets. In that case, your guests can keep the notice where it can be seen often, so they will be constantly reminded of your wedding.
Below are some sample wordings for a save-the-date card:
Romance is floating in the air!
Do remember the date.
A wedding in the tropics uniting
(The soon-to-be-married couple’s name)
(Wedding date)
(Venue)
An invitation is soon to follow.
Save-the-date cards for your beach wedding will help to ensure a magnificent and romantic wedding ceremony, because your guests will surely have plenty of time to make arrangements to attend your very special event.
