For a beach wedding, there is a wide variety of attire that is available.  If you are attending a beach wedding, then you must select the appropriate outfit for you; and the same rules apply if you are the one getting married.

Attire at a beach wedding may be similar to what you would wear when taking your vows elsewhere – or entirely different.  Your beach wedding outfit depends on your taste and preferred style.

Be practical when choosing a beach wedding outfit.  Practicality should be kept in mind when choosing attire for a beach wedding, whether it is formal or not.  If it is the former, of course no one would want to wear high-heeled shoes on a beach; flip-flops or sandals would be more appropriate.  Another thing to consider is the weather.  It is generally expected that it will be hot; so even if it is a formal event, it would be best to wear lightweight clothing.

Wear something “light” to a beach wedding.  A beach wedding outfit should be light in color, such as pastels, white and beige.  A black tuxedo though, is always fine for men.  As mentioned above, shoes need not be too formal, but styles for wedding shoes range widely, so the choice basically depends on your taste and style.  As for practicality, the terrain is also something to consider.

Wear something “minimalist” on a beach wedding.  Whatever party you are going to attend to, you do not have to dress exaggeratedly.  On a beach wedding, gloves are not necessary, but you may want to wear a hat.  An anklet would be better than a highly decorated necklace.  Always remember that on a beach wedding, the lesser the better.
Beach wedding footwear is obviously not similar to footwear that you would normally wear during an indoor wedding.  However, there are still a number of options.  There are two important things to think about in terms of beach wedding footwear:

• Elegance.  Honestly, to look elegant, you do not need to wear a 4” heel on the day of your wedding.  There are numerous styles of footwear that are flat or have small heels that would still look fantastic.
• Safety.  You do not want to spend your wedding day in the emergency room of a hospital, right?  A beach wedding means navigating through some rough terrain – and the softest sand may spell trouble if you are not wearing safe footwear.

Elegance and safety are two things that need to go together when you are picking out beach wedding footwear.  This is true not just for the bride and groom, but for the entire wedding party, including your guests.

Many couples who plan beach weddings choose to go entirely barefoot, eschewing ANY footwear.  For these people, being barefoot is unquestionably the choice for a beach wedding if the weather is warm, dry and safe.

Some brides, however, choose to compromise – which is sometimes accomplished through the use of ‘foot jewelry.’  ‘Foot jewelry’ often looks similar to a sandal’s top, so it APPEARS that you are wearing footwear, even though you are not.  It can be very elegant – frequently made with crystal beads from Austria or even lovely colored glass.  Search online to learn more about ‘foot jewelry’.
