If you are reading this, then probably, you are a fisherman. Rookie or professional, if you have a son, I assume you would like him to follow you on your footprints and learn how to fish.

Maybe you have seen in the movies how the happy couples of fathers and sons are going to fishing trips together in order to improve their relation, to hang out, or just to feel good, to relax themselves. How about you? Have you ever been in a fishing trip with your youngster? Does he know to handle a rod or how to thigh the bait into the hook? No? Than you should act right now and take him to fishing trip, where you will teach him whatever is necessary to be known in order to fish something successfully.

Let’s assume you have listened to my advices and you already are at a fishing trip with your son. So, what will be the first things you will show to your son in order for him to easily learn how to fish? The best way to start a youngster fishing is with a cane pole – a simple piece of line tied to the end of a pole, a bobber, pinch weight and perch hook.

You should assure that your boy will begin to love this activity. Be careful: don’t make him to feel that fishing is a “must-do” because of you, or else you will easily break any relation with him. So, you should make him to love this activity. Once he will know the basics, you’ll be able to learn him more easily about hooks, rods, fishing lines, bait casting equipment, bass fishing and anything you would wish him to know. If he likes his new activity, he will have a new hobby, you’ll keep him close to you, and final, you’ll make out of him a great fisher.

But in order for your son to learn all about this activity, you must first teach him how to catch a fish with the simplest equipment. Second, you must teach your son how to use a spin cast reel with adequate efficiency. Next, you should learn him about baits and bait casting gear, and then about spinning. Also, you should teach him what to do if he catches a fish that is strong enough that might be strong enough to damage the wire.

And in the final, you will make out of him a greater fisherman than you are. You will be proud of yourself because you’ll be acted like a responsible father which has given to his son a new and healthy hobby. You won’t have too much trouble because fishing is very easy to learn and with today’s equipments, your youngsters will learn very fast how to catch their prey with the rod. And after that, you will always have a companion at your fishing trips. After all, it’s a nice activity and it will improve your relation with your son, and this is good for the future.
