If you are reading this, it means that you are a beginner and you have just started with this awesome activity. I assume that you already have bought your fishing tool, and that you think you are ready to go out there and fish. It is not as this easy, you know. Why? Because there are a lot of factors you should consider.

First of all, don’t imagine that you’ll catch the big prey from the first day. In fact, in the first days, you’ll probably come back home with nothing in your bags. But this shouldn’t be a problem because everything has a start, doesn’t it?
In time, you will gain experience and you will start to catch fish, but first, you need practice. After you practice enough, you’ll have to practice some more and you will start catching fish. Also, you should keep in mind to go fishing in not very deep waters where there aren’t any big fish. You have to learn how to win the fight with the small fish, and after that point the beasts from deep waters.

Second, make sure you have the proper bait. You should have in handy some worms, some crank baits and some spinner baits which are very cheap, and also very effective. Also, try to have some plastic worms because you never know when you will remain with any living bait, so it’s good to have plastic worms in handy too.

Third, I think you already know that fish can’t be found everywhere in the water. At the start, try to go to the docks or in other place where the water is being stopped by the rocks or other stuff, because there are the places where the fish like to stay. Though, you should know that if you don’t find them in a place, go to other place and start fishing. In fact, some professionals say that fishing is like a game of hide and seek, where you are the seeker. So, you have to learn how to trick the fish and how to catch it, because, as you will see, this won’t be an easy job at all.

Now, I presume you already have learned how to use the rod, how to make a knot and how to thigh the bait into the hook. IF yes, for now, this is all you have to know so from now, you can go to some water and throw the bait. If you’ll have what it takes – clothes, warm boots and sox- you’ll gain at least experience and even if you won’t catch anything, the first step has already been made. Maybe next time you will start catching fish, and in short time, you’ll be starting to catch bigger and bigger fish, until some day, you’ll get the biggest prey you have ever wanted. But until then, don’t forget to practice, and even if this activity will give you dependence, you must not let it to ruin your life because there are more important things to do than catching fish.
