Obesity: A lifestyle or an illness?
Obesity has long been very popular subject especially in the developed countries such as the USA, the UK and particularly other European countries. Not only the obese themselves but also a lot of doctors are seeking the ways of reducing the risk factors obesity creates and they strive on finding the perfect answer to the question what makes people eat so excessively. More and more people are getting obese day by day and the age period for this eating disorder problem has reduced to the childhood. It is possible to see a lot of sweet but fat children around. So is it a lifestyle or an illness?
Well, some people claim that obesity is a lifestyle caused by the globalization and the things getting faster. In other words, they say not having enough time for decent meals or the rat race everyday make them eat such unhealthy or so called fast food. A lot of people do not want to spend much time on eating nowadays because they have a lot to do in the office or at work so they got to turn back immediately. Thus, they prefer to eat fast food with a lot of salt, fat, sugar and countless unhealthy ingredients. They can not avoid this though. This kind of eating habits can be observed almost everywhere in the world.
On the other hand, another group of people, especially scientists and doctors, argue that obesity may be caused due to some factors related to the modern life but it is not only a problem aroused by the lifestyle. It has something to do with our system itself since some cells in our body are malfunctioning. Owing to these factors, they believe medical treatment is obligatory in order to treat obesity most of the time.
No matter what the real reason is, obesity today leads to a lot of other illnesses as well and turns the lives of people in to frightening nightmares. So you had better always bear it in your mind and try to avoid changing your lifestyle. Or if it is not because of your lifestyle but your genes or some other factors you should consult to your doctor immediately.
