somerset-townsIf Somerset is the destination for your next holiday there are a great number of cities that you should not miss. There are many towns that have plenty to offer travelers and towns that offer plenty of piece and quiet for your enjoyment. You can enjoy both if you wish during your vacation. Here are some great places to visit while in Somerset.

Ansford is a gorgeous town that was once used as a stop for coaches and at one point in time was the home for five different coaching inns. Ansford linked the towns of Bristol and Bath so it was quite the hub of activity.

Broomfield is a very pretty village with lanes line with beautiful Beech trees. One of the most interesting things to see here is the All Saints Church.

somerset-towns1Cheddar is a town that is located right at the foot of the Cheddar Gorge which is very famous. If you are travelling to the town from the north you will get some fantastic views of the Gorge. There are also some very unique caves that can be viewed here.

The Abbey in the town of Glastonbury is one of the most well known sights to see here even though there are only fragments left of the building when it used to stand. It is still an incredibly interesting point of interest due to the legends surrounding the site.

You wil find that Taunton is the largest of the towns and villages that should be on your Somerset sight seeing list. Taunton is a busy commercial center that also has a lot of great tourist attractions to see.

No matter what you plan to see while visiting Somerset there is going to be something fun to enjoy. These towns should be must see destinations for people who have never traveled to Somerset before. Even if you have visited any of these areas before they are all very much worth a second (or third) look.
